The Open Door

The sign said “All are Welcome.” 
The people streamed by, glancing at the open door. Curious, but skeptical. Wanting to know, but afraid of finding out what was on the other side. They were so comfortable with what they had and where they were, that the thought of changing sent shivers down their spine. A few were a bit bold and stepped closer to the open door but dared not step inside. A stranger came by and questioned the people. “Why are you all standing outside?” He asked. 
With one voice they cried “because we don’t know what’s on the inside.” 
“How will you know what’s on the inside?” He asked “if you don’t go and see?”
The people pondered and whispered among themselves. They hadn’t thought about that. It was much easier standing outside with the crowd than moving independently.
One was bold and said “I’ll go.” He walked timidly to the door and peeped inside but could not see anything. Then he heard a gentle voice say “come in and see.”
He walked inside and was totally amazed. There standing before him was none other than Jesus, The Prince of Peace.

The door of salvation is open to you today. Jesus has put out the welcome mat especially for you, won’t you accept His invitation?
